Free Speech Ministries exists to train and equip the next generation in the art of civil discourse, beginning on college campuses across America. Our focus is universities, where the future leaders, voters, and cultural influencers of the nation are shaped. Every FSM Chapter is rooted on a college campus and led by trained student ambassadors.
Two Core Goals
1. Protect a Free and Healthy Nation
We teach students how to practice civil discourse, engage ideological opponents with respect, and build the habits of truth-seeking dialogue. A nation that cannot communicate cannot remain free, and our goal is to preserve the kind of marketplace of ideas a free nation requires to survive.
2. Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Every trained speaker and debater is equipped not only to defend truth in the public square, but to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with clarity, courage, and compassion. Our mission is civic and eternal.
How We Measure Success
We track meaningful leading indicators that reflect long-term impact:
Number of campus chapters launched
Number of active chapter members
Number of Certified Free Speech Ambassadors trained
Number of campus free-speech events, debates, and outreach initiatives held
These metrics help us ensure we are advancing both the civic and gospel components of our mission.
Every Human Being Possesses Inherent Value
Societies collapse into brutality when they lose this conviction. The Judeo-Christian worldview uniquely grounds human dignity in the image of God, and without that moral foundation, nothing restrains us from treating one another as expendable.
The Right and the Left Must Coexist
Over 100 million people died in the last century under regimes that tried to eliminate one side of the ideological spectrum. Both the political right and left become destructive when left unchecked. A flourishing nation requires the tension between them.
Free Speech Must Be Protected
Free speech is always the first liberty taken before a nation descends into tyranny because:
A. Freedom of speech is freedom of thought.
B. Free speech allows citizens to speak against injustice and abuse of power.
C. Without free speech, every other liberty eventually collapses.
- Temporal Purpose: Preserve a nation where truth can be spoken, ideas can be debated, and liberty can endure.
