PUBLIC EVENTS HELD
To model the art of civil discourse and the courage of conviction; training people to speak truth with grace, listen with humility, and engage opposition with respect, so that unity might be restored to our nation and every person in America may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We envision an America transformed by truth and grace. A nation where disagreements no longer divide us, where believers lead with both conviction and compassion, and where the Gospel has been clearly proclaimed to every heart and home.
1. Truth Above All
We believe truth is not subjective, invented, or negotiated. Truth is revealed by God and corresponds to reality. Every conversation begins and ends with the pursuit of truth.
2. Freedom of Speech as Stewardship
Speech is not merely a right; it is a responsibility. We are called to use our voices wisely, courageously, and compassionately to defend the good, the true, and the beautiful.
3. Gentleness and Respect
Following 1 Peter 3:15, we defend our faith with clarity and conviction, yet always with gentleness, respect, and love for the person.
4. Intellectual Honesty
We seek understanding, not victory. We embrace logic, evidence, and reason as tools to glorify God and reveal His order in creation.
5. Humility
We are quick to admit when we do not know, concede when our interlocutors have made a good point, and have our minds changed when the evidence supports it
6. Courage Under Fire
Free speech means nothing if no one will use it. We train to speak truth even when it costs us, because silence in the face of falsehood is complicity.
7. Unity Without Compromise
We engage people of all beliefs and backgrounds with humility, finding common cause in defending truth and conscience, while holding fast to the essentials of the faith.
8. Discipline and Excellence
We treat rhetoric, philosophy, and apologetics as disciplines worthy of mastery, training believers like warriors of the Word, both sharp in mind and steadfast in spirit.
1. God — There is one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2. Scripture — The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God; the final standard for truth, morality, and human flourishing.
3. Jesus Christ — Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, begotten of the father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, crucified for our sins, raised bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and reigns as Lord over all for now and forever.
4. Salvation — Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works, that no one may boast.
5. Humanity — Humanity is made in the image of God, endowed with dignity, moral responsibility, and free will, yet fallen through sin and in need of redemption.
6. The Holy Spirit — The Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, empowers them for godly living, and equips them to boldly bear witness to the truth.
7. The Church — The Church is the body of Christ, called to love God, love people, proclaim truth, and make disciples of all nations.
8. The Great Commission — Our ultimate mission is to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, and contending for truth in every arena of life: public, academic, and personal.
9. The Return of Christ — We await the visible return of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead and establish His everlasting kingdom of righteousness and peace.
The right calls the left evil.
The left calls the right evil.
In the twentieth century the left, unchecked, killed eighty-five million of their own people.
The right, unchecked, killed fifteen million of their own people and fifteen million more in war.
What we learned in the twentieth century is this:
The right is correct, and the left is evil.
The left is correct, and the right is evil.
When we removed God from our politics, over one hundred million people died for us to learn a lesson He had already told us:
Humans are evil.
We've learned that the only way to stop ourselves from producing Hell on Earth is to remember three things:
1. We need God. We must believe that human beings have intrinsic value. This is a truth you cannot derive from naturalism. Thus, we need God.
2. While it is true that all people are intrinsically valuable, it is also true that all people are evil. We need the perpetual battle between left and right inside a democratic state forever; because if either side wins, we all lose.
3. We need free speech. Without it, we don't have the necessary tension between the right and left that keeps us all in line (this is why all dictator regimes remove free speech).
If we lose any of these, we recreate Hell on Earth. That’s not speculation. That’s been proven by history. The experiments have been run and the data has been collected.
When I first started building what is now known as Free Speech Ministries, I did it because I believed we were living in a unique time; one where it was more reasonable than not that we would lose everything that makes America great in my lifetime. A time where it seems more likely than not that we are going to again descend into the Hell of the previous century.
I felt compelled to do something about it.
But as I studied, my perspective changed. While we are at a pivotal moment, one where we stand to lose everything, this moment is not unique.
There is nothing unique about this at all.
The reality is that we are always in danger of loosing the balance between the right and the left. The necessary path is the balance between the two; the give and the take, the push and pull... the left and the right need to keep fighting against each other, but neither side can be allowed to win.
Since this tension must always exist, we are always in danger of loosing the balance and one side winning. Since we are always in danger of one side wining, we are always in danger of recreating Hell on earth. And since we are always in danger of recreating Hell on earth, we are always in need of brave people who are willing to stand up and fight to protect the balance.
We are not unique.
We are not special.
It is simply our turn.
This is not theory. This is not the musing of a man in an ivory tower with nothing else to do but contemplate humanity. There is nothing light-hearted or casual about this.
Death, destruction, torture, famine, and all sorts of hell on earth are breathing down our necks.
This isn't an academic thought experiment. We've lost too much to allow ourselves to think anything of the sort.
This is the world we live in.
And those who refuse to take it seriously will inevitably contribute to the next round of atrocities.
Not because they are somehow morally worse than I am (as we've already covered, we are all worse than we want to believe), but because they have not done their homework. Anyone who thinks the horrors of yesteryear cannot rear their heads today, simply has not taken the precautions necessary to make sure they don’t end up on the wrong side of history.
Free Speech Ministries exists to restore moral clarity in the public square:
We proclaim Christ-centered truth, anchor debate in Scripture, reason, and reality, expose cultural lies without flinching, and equip believers to live and speak with courage and charity. We contend for life, liberty, and the inherent dignity of every person, modeling discourse that is bold, civil, and intellectually honest.
