Why Your Gift Is Not (Yet) Tax Deductible
Free Speech Ministries does not yet have the proper legal filing for a nonprofit. In order to be a legal nonprofit (and for you to benefit by your gift being tax deductible), we are required to be registered as a 501(c)(3). This process requires filing with both the states we operate in and the federal government.
We ARE in the process of earning this status.
The process typically takes anywhere from 3 to 12 months, and in order to do it as intelligently and intentionally as possible, we are receiving professional guidance and help, which is quite costly.
That is why our first support goal is raising the money to cover the legal fees. (You can see how we are doing with that goal, below).
In the meantime, all donations are being received through our founder's LLC, Windfall Elite (which is the entity you will see on your bills and your receipts). During this season of support raising, our processing fees for all donations are 2.9% + $0.30. Outside of those processing fees, 100% of all donations are going towards funding the filing process. In this way we will be able to allow your future donations to be tax deductible, asap.

Funding Towards Filing For Nonprofit Status
We are working off of a rough estimate. The expectation is that filing and the professional help that comes along with it will cost $3,550 total. The money is not all needed up front, but to initiate the process, we need to raise $1,450 (then the remaining $2,100 will be needed roughly 6 weeks after the process starts).
For that reason, we are making our first financial goal $1,450. Once that is raised we will start the filing process, and continue supporting for the additional $2,100.
If we raise more than the $3,550 total needed for filing, all additional funds will be poured into the ministry according to the financial breakdown above.
