Plant a hub of courageous conversation, Gospel-centered leadership, and civil discourse training on your campus.
A Free Speech Ministries Chapter equips students to model truth, grace, and intellectual honesty in the public square; changing the culture of a university from the inside out.
If you want to bring clarity, courage, and Christ-centered truth to your campus, this is your next step.
Starting a chapter is a serious responsibility, but we make the process simple, structured, and fully supported.
Below are the basic requirements for forming an official FSM Chapter:
1. Certified Free Speech Ambassadors (CFSAs)
Only trained and approved Certified Free Speech Ambassadors
may lead official Free Speech Events on campus.
The Chapter President is responsible for ensuring that:
No debate is hosted without approved CFSAs
New members pursuing CFSA certification complete the process correctly
Events maintain the standards of clarity, charity, and courage
FSM provides all training, curriculum, examinations,
and interviews needed for certification.
2. Secure Club Status at Your University
Every chapter must be registered as an official student club
or organization on its campus.
This provides:
Permission to host Free Speech Events
Eligibility to reserve rooms and campus spaces
Ability to promote events through university channels
Stability and long-term presence
FSM provides guidance to help you navigate your school’s club requirements.
Every new chapter receives a complete Free Speech Debate Kit containing all equipment necessary to run high-quality, professional events.
This includes:
Audio equipment
Signage
Instructions and playbooks
Event guidelines
Additional resources for outreach
We don’t leave you on your own. Every chapter receives:
Training on using and maintaining the debate kit
Coaching for leading events effectively
Access to online curriculum for your members
Ongoing communication with FSM Network Staff
Whenever possible, our founder will personally meet with new chapters to:
Offer encouragement
Provide hands-on guidance
Assist with club launch
Mentor the initial leadership team
This ensures every chapter begins with strength, clarity, and confidence.
We are currently test piloting our first chapter at Colorado State University, and are not ready to launch more chapters.
That being said, we are excited that you are interested in joining our movement. Our founder would love to schedule a time to talk with you and see how we can best support each other (and put you on the list for when we are ready to start launching more chapters).
Please send us a message through the form below, and we will be in touch.
Frequently Asked Questions
We will send detailed instructions once you express interest. The process includes CFSA training, club registration, and basic onboarding.
FSM does not impose heavy administrative burdens. Chapters mainly focus on training, events, and maintaining doctrinal + discourse standards.
Chapters have freedom to shape their event calendar while following FSM’s branding, CFSA, and quality guidelines.
These expansions are being evaluated for future phases after the college chapter model is fully established.
